I | Illness - Am I suffering from an illness or do I have any appreciable symtoms? |
M | Medication - Am I taking any medication ? If so, what are the side effects? |
S | Stress - Am I under particular pressure or undue stress? |
A | Alcohol - Have I had any alcohol within the last eight hours? (remember 8 hours bottle to throttle) For a significant amount of alcohol, will it have left my system by now? Do I have a hangover? |
F | Fatigue - Am I well rested? |
E | Eating - Have I had adequate nourishment before starting this flight? |
You should not fly within 24 hours of receiving a local anaesthetic. This includes a dental anaesthetic.
A minimum interval of 48 hours is recommended after a procedure involving a general anaesthetic.
It is also recommmended that pilots should not fly within 24 hours of donating blood.
